Mantis' 80 metre concept sailing yacht

The Mantis 80m concept sailing yacht from Dixon Yacht Design and Ken Freivokh Design is a new a creative collaboration between the two Hampshire, UK based design houses.

The philosophy behind the exterior styling by Dixon Yacht Design is to create a sailing superyacht with a flybridge deck that effectively integrates into the hull lines.

The ketch sail plan allows for a powerful easily handled rig and the lifting keel (draft up 6m, draft down 9m) is sufficient to allow optimal performance with reasonable access to most posts and marinas whilst not requiring the structure to intrude on the guest accommodation.

Interior designer Ken Freivokh has developed the interior around an open plan circular staircase connecting the three decks with a full beam owner’s suite forward on the main deck.

The design team have incorporated fold out balconies in the bulwarks for improved views and extra outdoor areas for the main saloon and master suite.

The open aft deck is recessed to create a ‘beach’ style area with easy access to the water.
