Acquera Yachting to acquire G&K Yachting
Aquera Yachting, a subsidiary of the recently launched Acquera Group, is set to acquire G&K Yachting in Greece…
At an exclusive event held at the Palazzo San Teodoro in Naples, Stefano Tositti, founder and CEO of Acquera Yachting, and Kostas Skiathitis and Georgios Mourkakos, managing directors of G&K Yachting, announced that a preliminary agreement had been reached for Acquera Yachting to acquire 100 per cent of G&K Yachting’s agency division.
Acquera Yachting, the yacht agency subsidiary of the Acquera Group that was launched in February 2018, offers full agency services to superyachts. The operation originally started in Venice, with a string of new offices opening along the Italian coastline and main islands. The acquisition of G&K Yachting, which operates in Greece, is a strategically critical move for Acquera Yachting as it fulfils its desire to expand into the east Mediterranean.
“This is a big day for Acquera Yachting,” commented Tositti. “The acquisition is an excellent strategic fit and it fills me with great satisfaction that, within such an extremely short window of time, we have agreed on acquiring G&K Yachting. I strongly believe that they are the ideal partner to join forces with and I warmly welcome G&K Yachting and their employees to Acquera Yachting. Together, we can operate from a strong platform that will allow us to rapidly establish a brand and broaden our services to superyachts.”
The management and operation of G&K Yachting will remain unchanged and the enterprise will continue to operate underneath its current brand until the end of 2018, after which G&K Yachting will move under the Acquera Yachting brand. Acquera Yachting is confident that G&K Yachting fulfils all the prerequisites for the acquisition – the company has a proven track record and Skiathitis and Mourkakos have amassed over 35 years of industry experience between them.
“The acquisition has provided us with an opportunity to expand the business with a company with whom we are very much in line with in terms of vision and company culture,” explained Mourkakos.
“Acquera Yachting has an incredibly exciting vision and ambitious plans to operate at the highest level within the industry and we are pleased that they selected G&K Yachting to play such an important role in their expansion,” added Skiathitis.
Acquera Group, the parent company, has two divisions in operation: Acquera Yachting and Acquera Experience. Acquera Experience is a private lifestyle members club that will only be available to superyacht owners upon invitation. The Acquera Experience headquarters recently opened in London, with a New York office to be added in the second quarter of 2018.
Acquera Group expects to have more news relating to acquisitions in the coming weeks.
