Admiral Tecnomar acquires yard to create refit arm
The acquisition of Nuovi Cantieri Apuania (NCA) will result in a new superyacht refit business under the new conglomerate's name of The Italian Sea Group.…
NCA is based in the same province of Italy as Admiral Tecnomar is, in Massa, allowing it to develop its refit and service business for large yachts. It has already developed strong ties with international brokers to enter into large yacht refit.
“The decision to acquire NCA stands on a meticulous evaluation of structural, economic and financial values of the company,” said Giovanni Costantino, Chairman of Admiral Tecnomar.
“The widening of the Admiral Tecnomar production capacity will allow us to gather all the opportunities on the market, particularly in the field of vessels superior to 50 metres.”
The acquisition of NCA, which builds large ferries and tankers, will also lead to a new name for the newly established conglomerate.
The Italian Sea Group now refers collectively to the Company’s existing and new business lines. Admiral Tecnomar will refer to yachts only, as it has done, whilst NCA Refit will refer to ship service and yacht refit and NCA to shipbuilding.
Investments in NCA businesses are expected to amount to around €8 million.
“From a sales point of view, we intend to operate on two different markets, but thanks to the grafting of such a solid competence in the shipbuilding, we want to give further authority to Admiral Tecnomar in order to reinforce its top position in the field of luxury mega yachts,” said Costantino.
