The Amico Group has established Amico Loano, its new shipyard, located in the same town where the company was originally established in 1799.

The shipyard itself is housed within Loano’s marina and is able to accommodate vessels of up to 50m.

Company head, Alberto Amico, explained: “In these first few months of activity the shipyard has received a lot of requests and has hosted about 30 yachts, mostly coming from the French Riviera. Therefore, I am confident about a quick growth of the activity thanks to the good name that Amico has in this field, as well as skilled personnel organisation and the central location. I hope that soon the whole Marina can be opened to Customers; we have already scheduled some important marketing events in cooperation with Marina di Loano in order to take advantage of the natural synergies between our two realities.”

According to consultancy, Bain & Co the shipyard will play a vital role in triggering local economic growth, whilst carrying the marina through the quiet winter months.

“I hope” – concluded Amico – “that the institutions may appreciate and consider the important opportunities of development arisen by this project. I wish also that they may cooperate to support the starting-up of the business and craftsmanship activities around the Marina in order to draw Italian and international customers.”
