Awlgrip opens fourth training facility
The Holland facility teaches best practices in preparation and application of Awlgrip products and systems. There is also a real boat shell in the two storey complex on which to test out skills.…
The Centre will run training courses on Awlgrip products and systems. Trainees will learn how to achieve the finest finish through best practices on preparation and application, health and safety guidance in all aspects of application, and Personal Protective Equipment requirements. Bespoke programmes tailored to individual requirements are also offered.
The modern building, split into two levels, houses a 'state-of-the-art' application booth, tailor-made material and preparation areas (housed independently to prevent cross-contamination) on the ground floor with office space, break-out area and a large classroom on the first floor.
“Awlgrip is dedicated to working together with all our customers, old and new, locally and globally, to give them as much training and assistance with Awlgrip products as we can," commented Global Technical & Commercial Services Manager, Derrick Nowak.
"Our dedicated Yacht Paint Application Centres allow us to give participants the opportunity to find out more about products that are particularly relevant to their operations as well as discuss their own procedures. We provide instruction on surface preparation, coatings systems, equipment, spray gun set-up and various other tips,” he added.
The YPAC features modern techniques in application, preparation and Health and Safety equipment and can accommodate large groups. The expansive application booth also provides attendees the ability to paint a real boat shell housed in the ground floor preparation area.
Awlgrip's other Yacht Paint Application Centres are in Southampton, Viareggio and Florida, which opened in 2012. Awlgrip is now planning a fifth Centre on the East Coast of Australia.
The Awlgrip training courses are available for all customers, including applicators, paint foremen, new project managers, specifiers and yards, regardless of their role within the industry. In instances when customers require training for specific projects, Awlgrip experts also provide hands-on technical training and support on-site at the customer’s premises.
