Scarpa is to build and promote the existing Yacht Services arm of the company traditionally focused on the surveying of hull and machinery on commercial vessels.
Most recently at Burgess, where he was senior consultant and project manager, he has also held positions at Royale Oceanic as project manager and completed an MBA at Warwick university in the UK this year.
“Alongside our traditional services Braemar SA has a well-established global yacht surveying and consultancy capability,” said Nigel Clark, MD at Braemar SA.
“With a broad base of experts strategically located around the world, including within the important yacht centres such as London, Miami and Dubai, we are ideally placed to further expand our range of services in this exciting sector of the market and we are delighted to welcome Stefano on board. His move to Braemar SA will add a new dimension to the team and contribute to our continued growth in this sector.”
Braemar SA is a multi-disciplinary marine surveying and technical consultancy with offices all over the world. Incorporating The Salvage Association it provides warranty services, marine casualty investigations, surveys and litigation support for the cargo, offshore energy, construction, liability and hull & machinery insurance markets.
