D-Marin Marinas Group, of Doğuş Group, has acquired two marinas in Croatia, taking its portfolio of marinas in the region to three. An agreement signed for Marina Dalmacija and Marina Borik, Zadar, northern Dalmatia, took place on 30 April giving the Turkish conglomerate 100 per cent ownership, including development and operation rights.

D-Marin Marinas, which operates as part of the group's seven core businesses in the services sector including automotive, tourism and energy, secured the acquisition from prolific regional businessman, Zdenko Zrilic.

Marina Dalmacija, with 19 berths for superyachts at a maximum length of 40m, is the highest capacity marina in the Eastern Mediterranean basin. It has a total of 1700 in-water slips and dry dock berths on land and is 5km from the Zadar International Airport. Marina Borik, is located in a sheltered bay across from scenic Ugljan island and has 185 berths with a maximum capacity for yachts up to 40m.

Our goal is to create an international chain of marinas under the D-Marin brand and extend Doğuş Group’s concept of service quality to a larger area in the Mediterranean” said CEO of Doğuş Group, Hüsnü Akhan.

Doğuş Group has already made a considerable stake in Croatia, widely tipped in the industry as the favoured destination for superyachts. In April, the group launched 79 new berths for superyachts at D-Marin Mandalina Marina in Šibenik with the largest berth able to accommodate yachts up to 140m.
