It has been announced that Engine Holding, a joint venture between Daimler AG and Rolls-Royce Holding plc have acquired a 94.17% holding in Tognum AG with its MTU, MTU Onsite Energy and L’Orange brands.

“Together with Daimler and Rolls-Royce, we will create a global leader in technology for propulsion systems and distributed power generation systems. And in so doing, we will underpin the Tognum Group’s outstanding market position and significantly improve our future prospects”, said Tognum AG CEO, Volker Heuer. For the companies themselves, the move opens up new opportunities for cooperation on marketing the entire range of medium and high-speed diesel engines for complete drive and propulsion systems.
