Final Countdown for The Pinmar Golf 2017
A reminder of what highlights are to be expected of next week's must-attend event…
Having satisfyingly drawn a line under the summer charter season, as well as boat shows in Cannes, Southampton and Monaco, the next highlight in the superyacht calendar is The Pinmar Golf 2017. Featuring a revamped programme and household-name talent in the shape of eight-time European Tour winner Paul Lawrie, Sky Sports broadcaster Kirsty Gallacher and Faithless DJ Sister Bliss, the event is billed to be the best yet.
In the diary for 19 to 21 October, this 29th edition of the charity golf extravaganza promises two days of golf at the pristine Golf Son Gual, an Astilleros de Mallorca-sponsored Pinmar VIP Friday Night Party at Social Club in Palma, the Jotun ‘Recovery’ Brunch at Restaurante El Náutico in Real Club Náutico Palma the morning after, and a Prize-giving Gala Dinner and After Party in association with Awlgrip at the spectacular 16th-century finca venue of Son Amar on Saturday evening. Little wonder there’s a palpable buzz of anticipation in the air.
“I’m really looking forward to The Pinmar Golf event,” says The Open Champion Paul Lawrie OBE. “It’s been in my calendar for several months, and now that it’s almost here I’m delighted to be a part of what will be, I’m sure, a very special couple of days for everyone involved. From what I understand, The Pinmar Golf is a very sociable, fun event and as a playing ambassador for Pinmar, I’m very happy to be able to join valued customers and staff in Palma next week.”
Prize-giving and Gala Dinner compère Kirsty is equally enthusiastic. “I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone at the 29th annual Pinmar Golf tournament and dinner this month," she comments. "It's set to be a really fun tournament, topped off with an evening of celebration – see you all in Mallorca.”
“Golf teams are filling up fast,” says Andrew Clemence, Chief Commercial Officer for GYG plc. “We have a cap of 86 teams, that’s 344 golfers, and we’re almost fully booked so any late entrants must make their applications via our website without delay. The same goes for the Saturday evening gala, we have space for 800 VIP guests and it looks like it will be a sell-out. Tickets are still available, you’ll find booking details on our website.”
Due to popular demand, The Pinmar Golf has returned to a black tie dress code for the Saturday night Gala and renowned international show director Martyn Smith has choreographed a magical show to complement the beautiful Son Amar theatre.
For guests needing last minute hotel accommodation, The Pinmar Golf 2017’s official (and only) travel partner is Ticket Travel in Portals Nous, Mallorca. Owner Nicky Roberts has block-booked a number of rooms. She can be contacted on nicky@ticket.es or telephone: (00 34) 971 67 67 67.
The golf application form can be found here, and Prize-giving Gala Dinner and After Party tickets can be booked via Emma Conway on (00 34) 676 680 593 or email: emma@gygroup.com. Pricing details can be found here.
