This week saw the launch of Hamilton in Hythe, England, and is the first in the WallyCento range by Wally, of which the design was first revealed in February of last year. The superyacht is the first to feature a new steering wheel developed by Konstantin Grcic exclusively for the vessel, enhancing the aesthetics of the model. “Cruising in comfort at the speed of the fastest maxi racer, and racing at the highest level of competition, is the dream of every passionate yachtsman,” explains Wally president and founder, Luca Bassani Antivari. “WallyCento is the first and only superyacht to make this dream come true, and Hamilton truly reflects this concept.”

Developed by the team at Judel Vrolijk, with an interior by Design Unlimited, the new 30-metre boasts the latest in performance technology and will join the Wally Class racing circuit, taking part in the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup and Voiles de Saint Tropez. “We are very honoured to welcome into the Wally Class such a highly competitive and experienced racing team like Hamilton’s,” says Bassani. “Next year they will engage epic duels on the water with Magic Carpet Cubed, the second WallyCento we have in the order book, further raising the racing level.”

Magic Carpet Cubed, which is under construction at WallyEurope’s facilities in Ancona, Italy, is due to be launched at the end of 2012.
