Maritime security company, AdvanFort, Washington, has announced the appointment of a new in-house legal counsel.

Attorney, Sheila R. Schreiber brings a deal of expertise in private and public sectors to the role. She was formerly litigation partner with Howrey LLP and former counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary.

“We look forward to Sheila's wise counsel and keen insight to directly impact on our future growth and success, allowing us to fully exploit our international strengths as we continue the process of opening offices in a number of countries around the globe,” said AdvanFort President, Captain William H. Watson .

Attorney, Sheila R. Schreiber

Sheila is a cum laude graduate of the University of Pittsburgh law school where she was a member of the Law Review. Her bar and court memberships include the US District Court for the District of Columbia, the US Supreme Court, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Earlier this month AdvanFort passed SAMI's Standard Private Maritime Security Company (PMSC) accreditation programme. It was part of the company's ‘rigorous programme’ of matching and exceeding emerging international benchmarks for quality and standards in maritime security, it said.
