UK-based Pendennis shipyard, has announced that its 44-metre sailing catamaran Hemisphere has commenced sea trails and is set to make her debut at the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show in September. With naval architecture by Van Peteghem Lauriot Prévost and interior design by Michael Leach Design, she holds the record for being the largest sailing catamaran in the world.

Due for delivery in late July, the superyacht will be able to accommodate up to 12 guests across six cabins, and eight crew. Dark wooden floors, neutral colours and various granite and leather finishes have been used throughout the interior. “The result is an innovative design brimming with creatively practical features that blend speed and stability with both space and style to encompass the pure essence of innovation in the multihull market,” explains Toby Allies at Pendennis.
