Leopard Yachts dismisses rumours of closing down

Leopard Yachts has dismissed rumours that it may be closing down, though has admitted having a tough year.…

Rumours have been circulating that, in the midst of tough times, Leopard Yachts is to close. Now SuperyachtNews.com can confirm that Leopard Yachts is not closing.

A spokesman from the PR and Press Department commented: “The shipyard is having a difficult time, and its order book is not in fantastic health at the moment, but the Picchiotti family [holders of the shipyard] has a long tradition in the industry and they are fighting to save the shipyard and the people working there. The shipyard is not closing at all.”

Despite delivering a 46m vessel earlier this year, the tough times the Italian-based shipyard has undergone may be at an end. “We all hope we will have good news to communicate to the industry very soon,” said the spokesman from the PR and Press Department.

Despite admitting to tough times, Leopard Yachts delivered the above 46m vessel earlier this year.
