This project has been in development since 2004, in response to the [then] rapidly developing industry trend for larger and longer yachts. It began in 2007, with a new paint shed extension allowing the accommodation of yachts up to 125 metres, and culminated in the signing of the concession at the end of 2010 to extend the premises.
The expansion will cost 46.5 million and take place over three years, and in two stages. The first stage will see existing buildings renovated and transformed into office spaces, workshops and storage space. The current dock space will have an overhaul that will allow space for up to six yachts of 200 metres. MB’92 will also develop the existing dry dock for vessels up to 210 metres.
This project should be completed within the next three years. Upon completion MB’92’s workforce of around 750 will gain another 35 members of staff.
