Monaco Marine announces Antibes acquisition
The acquisition of Antibes Marine Chantier (AMC) gives Monaco Marine several advantages, not least a projected boost in annual turnover to €50 million...…
AMC, which has been operative for 30 years, has experience largely in refitting yachts from 25m up to 40m, although Monaco Marine France's director, Chantal Lemeteyer explained there is capacity for yachts up to 35m on land and 45m afloat. It also has a 200 tonne travellift. The acquisition of AMC, which boasts an annual turnover of €7m, now positions MM with multiple assets that will enhance its business model threefold, as Lemeteyer explained:
“AMC is located right in the heart of the Monaco Marine network, on the biggest port of the French Riviera (2000 berths), facing the famous “quai des Milliardaires”.
“It was, in the past, a very famous builder of sailing yachts, who are still clients...it has a very good reputation.”
MM’s acquisition will also enable it to build on the training of a broad and highly specialised workforce, something it was unable to do previously.
“It’s not easy to develop programmes for all people in Monaco Marine for quality [in all areas], from carpenters to painters for example, but now we have the situation and the size to do it.”

Then there is AMC’s extensive network of subcontractors. The yard’s website says its strength lies in the extensive number of ‘highly skilled and passionate’ subcontractors it works with. The acquisition will therefore, “help MM to develop its network of subcontractors…a guarantee for the quality Monaco Marine wants to offer its clients,” said Lemeteyer.
MM projects that its new status, boosting its portfolio up to six shipyards - all positioned in strategic locations in France - will give it an annual turnover of €50 million.
