Discovery series 'SuperYachts' announces summer schedule

The UK, Russia, Ukraine and Denmark’s residents will see into the world of the superyacht industry when SuperYachts, the six part series of the Discovery channel airs in June.

Scheduling has just been announced for the programme which follows the Netherlands' top businesses and yards in action. HISWA Holland Yachting Group members invited cameras 'behind the scenes' to document the workmanship and showcase the phenomenal technology that lie behind the finished product of the superyacht.

The series features Holland’s premier builders, engineers, designers and naval architects: Vitters Shipyard, Vripack, Hakvoort Shipyard, ICON Yachts and Balk Shipyard. Yards and business will “reveal their secrets and show its audience the blue prints behind some of their latest projects.”

“We finally get to see how they tackle the problems they encounter along the way, racing beyond the limits of what others believe is possible,” promises the PR for the long anticipated programme, first revealed at Monaco Yacht Show in 2012.

The series affords for many the chance to access and appreciate craftsmanship at shipyards and design studios for the first time.
 
For the Dutch industry specifically, it is an honour to be chosen as the candidate for the first major TV series on superyachts.
