Chairman and CEO of Tognum AG, Joachim Coers hands over his position to his deputy Dr. Ulrich Dohle from 1 July to pursue personal goals, the company has announced.

The supervisory board of Tognum AG, the parent company of leading superyacht engine manufacturer, MTU Friedrichshafen, say they “regretted” the decision taken by Coers, but have accepted it. The company states its thanks for “exceptional dedication and commitment in the past nine years.”

Coers joined what was then MTU Friedrichshafen in 2004. Since Tognum‘s takeover by Rolls-Royce and Daimler, finalized this March with the completion of the ‘squeeze-out’ of shareholders, he has been preparing the company for operational collaboration with its new parent owners. His previous roles at the company include chief financial officer and deputy chairman of the Executive Board during the almost six years in which the company was listed on the German stock exchange.

His successor, Dr. Dohle, joined the Tognum executive board with responsibility for Technology & Operations (CTO) in 2009, after spending several years at Robert Bosch GmbH. In his new position as chairman of the executive board and CEO, his responsibilities will include Research & Development and Quality Management, which are part of his current areas of responsibility.

Since March 2013, Tognum AG has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rolls-Royce Power Systems Holding GmbH, a joint venture of Daimler AG and Rolls-Royce Group plc.
