The Turkish shipyard Vicem Yachts has reorganised its production system as part of a wider strategy to improve efficiency. The production of all three of its production lines – Vintage, Vulcan and Vanguard – will now be concentrated in Vicem’s two Antalya facilities.

The move is part of Vicem’s three-year industrial plan, which was first implemented at the end of 2009. The plan included the launch of the Vulcan Line and, more recently the Vanguard Line.

A spokesperson for the yard said of the plan: In this moment of extreme difficulty for the international nautical sector, Vicem is concentrating its production in Antalya for many reasons: the constant search for increasing overall production efficiency, the excellent quality/cost ratio of local labour, a favourable fiscal environment, direct access to the sea and the logistical advantage of having our entire production ‘under one roof’.”
