Visions East, Inc. granted European patent

Visions East, Inc. is a company founded on the premise that the robotic processes used in the coating of automobiles can be successfully applied to marine vessels.  

It has now reported the reception of the patent for a “Computer controlled apparatus for finishing marine vessel surfaces” from the European Patent Office, as of 11th August 2010.

Steve Morton, Vision East’s President, says of the news:

“It serves to further legitimise our ideas and claims that long-proven methods of automation from the automotive industry, including robotic coatings application, can provide a valuable solution in the painting of yachts and ships for the marine industry. It is also important in that the European market represents a major share of the overall world-wide yacht and shipbuilding market with many fine, long-established builders looking to incorporate new, efficient production technologies.”

The company is already internationally recognised for its turn-key robotic systems that serve shipyards. Visions East, Inc. received the ISTIA Award for Innovation in Superyacht Technology at the inaugural SEAS2004, the Superyacht Equipment and Services show, organised by The Yacht Report Group.
