LU Murano cLUb
Master glassmaker Fabio Fornasier has been developing his flair for design and his natural talent for glassblowing since he was a young boy, leading him to open LU Murano, his own glassworks on the Venetian island of Murano. The cLUb chandelier, a striking, spiky work of art, is one of the latest...…
Fornasier uses knowledge gained from years of research and experimentation to blend modern innovative design with traditional and ancient glassmaking techniques from the Murano master craftsmen, designing and creating the exclusive chandeliers for LU Murano.
One of his most recent creations is the cLUb chandelier, a spiky yet elegant pendant lamp with 60 curling glass arms, each with a small 10W halogen light bulb. Designed with clubs and bars in mind, this chandelier would make an eye-catching focal point for any superyacht dining, bar or club area.
Asymmetrical, disorderly and beautiful, each arm is handcrafted by Fornasier from blown glass and created exclusively at his Murano factory. Each chandelier is around 2.2m in length and 80cm in height, but it is possible to join individual pieces together to create even larger more impressive lighting sculptures. cLUb’s arms are available in over 20 colours that can be intermingled to great effect.
Thanks to the explosive creativity of Fabio Fornasier, 2010 has seen LU Murano win its first design award at the UK Lighting Design Awards.
