Henk de Vries to give Breakfast Briefing keynote at opening of METSTRADE Show…
As the dust starts to settle on this year’s Monaco Yacht Show, SuperyachtNews looks towards the next big event in the superyacht calendar. The METSRADE Show, which will take place from 19 to 21 November 2019 in RAI Amsterdam, promises to be the world’s leading B2B trade show for the leisure marine industry.
What was noticeable at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019, was the distinct lean towards sustainability and this is set to be a consistent theme throughout the METSTRADE Show too.
This year, one of the leading figures in the superyacht world, Feadship director Henk de Vries, will open the show by giving the keynote speech at the event’s Breakfast Briefing. Speaking to an audience of around 600 delegates, de Vries will explore the topic of successfully grow a family company and make it more sustainable for the future.
De Vries is the fourth generation of his family to take a leading role in the company that celebrates the 70th anniversary of its foundation this year. As well as this he is actively involved within SYBAss, Young Professionals in Yachting and the Water Revolution Foundation. The Breakfast Briefing is planned to draw upon these various strands of experience to share the steps being taken by himself and his colleagues to ensure the future success of Feadship and the wider yachting industry. He will also examine the issues affecting all stakeholders such as employment, corporate social responsibility and sustainability.
The Superyacht Forum, which will run alongside the METSTRADE Show, will also make sustainability one of the central topics of discussion over the course of its three-day programme. In an effort to avoid simply discussing the topic of sustainability, The Superyacht Forum hopes to actively try and implement change. This year’s programme will be completely paperless, with delegates able to view the programme online, through the application or on a memory stick, which will also pre-load copies of the event’s presentations. Keep an eye on SuperyachtNews to find out more about the sustainable initiatives that will be implemented during TSF 2019.
At the 2019 edition of The Superyacht Forum in association with METSTRADE, we are ‘Building For the Next Generation’ to ensure that our industry will continue to prosper.
