Known for its distinctive, high lacquer pieces, Davidson London has revealed its first games table design, the Babington, which incorporates a chessboard, backgammon board and card-playing surface. According to managing director Alexandra Davidson, the table was originally designed to compliment the company’s oval Aspin dining table.
Babington’s flush ebonised and tinted rippled sycamore chess surface comes with brushed chrome and brushed bronze chess pieces and flips over to reveal a card surface that can be removed to use the backgammon board. The table has drawers to both sides with neat flock lined compartments for storing all the playing pieces.
“The array of tinted sycamore finishes were intentionally subtle to allow the focus to always be on the gameplay when in use, while still being a beautiful piece of furniture when not,” says Richard Davidson, chairman of Davidson London.
Davidson has also added the Tavistock occasional table to its collection. Made from the company’s trademark tinted sycamore with a shagreen top, it is available in a range of sizes.
