Be unconventional; be ‘Bold’

SilverYachts has launched 85m ‘Bold’, its largest superyacht to date…

On 25th May, Australian superyacht builder SilverYachts successfully launched its new highly-anticipated superyacht M/Y Bold, formerly Silver Loft. At 85m, the slender new project isn’t just the largest vessel the shipyard has built to date, but a staggering design feat, by Espen Øino, who together with the shipyard has created a destroyer-style utilitarian superyacht, designed to tackle more rugged climates.

At 1504GT, the new launch has the capacity to reach a maximum speed of 24 knots, quite rightly earning the description of a ‘fast world explorer’, as well as its remarkable range of 5,000 nautical miles at 18 knots. And the all-aluminium, aggressive superyacht certainly looks the part, with its classic military-grey colour scheme, defining angular windows and 300sqm ‘loft’ on the upper deck; not to mention its extensive outdoor entertaining areas complete with bars and seating areas.

For the yacht’s interiors, SilverYachts has turned to designer Andreas Hölnburger of Vain Interiors, although the full details remain a guarded secret, but one can imagine will be as spectacular as the yacht’s exterior.

The new vessel also has an impressive stowage capacity for tenders and toys; holding three tenders on the main deck, launched by a 12-tonne aft crane, a jet-ski locker in the bow and a helideck designed to accommodate an Agusta Westland 109 helicopter or something of a similar specification.

Speaking to The Superyacht Report in an exclusive interview in 2017, SilverYachts’ forward-thinking owner, Guido Krass said that he ‘hopes to conquer another growing area of the market – that of explorer yachts.’ A few years down the line and the dream looks on track to becoming a reality, and done so in style, together with Espen Øino.

This is now the fifth yacht SilverYachts has built, and in keeping with her predecessor, Bold is extremely impressive, with her technical and utilitarian appearance, but also remarkable list of specifications.

The yacht has been designed to be extraordinary and different, and it’s safe to say that the build and design team went above and beyond to create this exceptional vessel, which I’m sure will turn heads wherever she goes.
