The system is fully feathered and controllable, with a hub containing two cams, therefore increasing the blade operating and reducing the forces required to move it. The twin cams also reduce the load pressure that a quantity of CPP systems can place on propeller blades in some positions.
The hub and blade design have been developed to ensure minimum drag when the blades are fully feathered for sailing. A control module, which has been newly advanced, is linked to the engine management system and makes certain the blades are at the right pitch for optimum efficiency when motoring.
The first model in the range will be aimed at yachts over 30m and with engines of 800hp. A CPP for yachts with engines of 200hp is currently in development.
