Iconic Lürssen yachts at MYS 2023
Two of the most iconic Lürssen yachts are primed and ready to make a splash on the market at the Monaco Yacht Show 2023…
With the first lists coming from the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show, one legend stands out. Lürssen and Fraser are set to unveil the extensively refitted 97m Carinthia VII. This refit was completed at Lürssen's Hamburg facilities, and the superyacht now features redesigned exterior decks with new lounge and living areas, a 12m/39' pool, and a fitness room.
“I am very proud that after building Carinthia VII," says Peter Lürssen, Managing Partner of Lürssen. "We have now been able to participate in its new lease on life with an extensive refit. Carinthia VII remains a testament to the solidity of our German engineering and manufacture.”
Built in 2002, Carinthia VII was one part of a new generation of 90m+ superyachts that hit the water in the late 90s and early 2000s, largely pioneered by the German yards. The vessel's original exterior lines, from designer Tim Heywood, proved influential in the yachting industry. Heywood has shared that “several yachts were consequently designed and built that owe their DNA to Carinthia VII.”
Carinthia VII will be introduced to the charter market for the first time, represented exclusively by Fraser. Daniela de Marco, Fraser's Head of Charter Management in Europe, notes, “Bringing any yacht to the charter market for the first time is always a joy and a challenge. And one that we relish. It’s like starting with a blank sheet of paper - creating a fresh new program built on experience with the very best charter captains and crew, the latest tenders and toys and of course, creating some personalised and exciting new itineraries with clients."
Mark Duncan, Fraser's Director of Business Development & Marketing, anticipates that Carinthia VII will be a key part of post-charter conversations due to its unique features and ambience. "We suspect Carinthia VII is going to be as much a part of those after-charter dinner conversations as the unforgettable moments we know it is going to help create for those who decide to book something exceptional.”
With the combined influences of Lürssen and Fraser, Carinthia VII is set to make an impressive entrance into the charter market. It is early days in the run-up to The Monaco Yacht Show, with many more intriguing yachts set to make their way to Port Hercule. Having the chance to see the evolution of this iconic motor yacht up close is an early draw card as the industry looks ahead to the most important show of the year.
The impressive 91m Lady Lara, will also be at the show and listed on the market for the first time since its delivery by Max Bulley and Gary Wright from Y.CO and Merle Wood & Associates. The superyacht, originally delivered in 2015, has also recently completed an extensive refit earlier this year.
Lady Lara boasts an interior and exterior design skillfully executed by Reymond Langton Design, while its naval architecture was crafted by the German shipbuilder. Lady Lara offers accommodation for up to 16 guests in eight staterooms, with a dedicated crew of up to 27.
The yacht also boasts a spacious owner's deck complete with a private lounge area and a bar. To enhance the sense of privacy onboard, the owner's suite opens onto a private terrace, featuring a jacuzzi. It also includes a glass lift and offers a cinema, a wellness area, and two swimming pools, with a main deck pool that can transform into a dancefloor.
The iconic motor yacht is powered by twin MTU engines, allowing for a cruising speed of 12 knots.
Prospective buyers will be able to find Lady Lara at Berth D02, QUAI RAINIER III during the show.
