Any petrol head or poser that feels hemmed in by the concept of a nice leisurely cruise may have found their perfect vessel in the latest offering from Danish Yachts.  Danish Yachts are preparing to showcase the design of the new AeroSpeed 18 at the Dubai International Boat show from the 1st to the 5th of March. They have dubbed the new model “the super car of the seas” because it was inspired by the design and performance of the most covetable muscle cars.

The Aerospeed 18 has been generated through a partnership between Rainsford Mann Design and Danish Yachts. The design utilises the latest carbon-epoxy construction technology to produce the lightest hull possible to maximise performance and it can reach speeds in excess of 55knots. It can be used as a tender to a superyacht or as a day boat in its own right.

The hull form has been developed to suit the geography of the coast in the Middle East; it has a combination shape; a deep V shape that flattens out into a planning hull towards the stern, this gives a shallower draft.  The vessel is water jet driven in place of a propeller to give maximum speed, and this propulsion method works with the hull to give greater access to shallow coastlines. The emphasis in the design on speed and luxury extends to the interior. The titanium trim and carbon fibre inlays ensure it is ultra lightweight, and it is finished off with hand-stitched leather to echo the sleek interior of a super car.

Danish yachts have announced that they have formed a partnership with Quintessentially to create another version of the product, the Quintessentially AeroSpeed.  This will come with a host of other benefits to the owner, but Danish yachts are keeping the full details of the partnership under wraps until the Dubai yacht show.  For further information on the latest innovations in the superyacht industry visit our sister website SuperyachtDesign.com.
