UK, London. Today saw the start of the 37th edition of Decorex International at Syon Park in West London. The interior design trade show has returned to the grounds close to Syon House, providing an appropriate location for the organisers, as they celebrate the 300th anniversary of the Georgian era.
To set the tone, the entrance features eight installations by leading designers who have interpreted the works of 18th century English artist William Hogarth, specifically his 'A Rake's Progress' series. Consisting of eight paintings, the series depicts the fall of Tom Rakewell, the heir of a rich merchant who became consumed by gambling, prostitution and luxurious living in London. Designers such as Lulu Lytle, Edward Bulmer, Russell Sage, Peter Phan and Nigel Coates have each interpreted and created their version of the paintings together with the help of international brands such as Dedar, Altfield, Harlequin London and Tufenkian Artisan Carpets.
