Details revealed on two superyachts undergoing completion at VSY

Viareggio Superyachts (VSY) have released details on 72m 'Stella Maris', due for launch in 2012. Work is also progressing rapidly on 64m 'Duchess of Tuscany II' ready for her 2013 launch...…

Details have emerged on two superyachts in build at Viareggio Superyachts (VSY) in Italy. 72m Stella Maris and 64m Duchess of Tuscany II are due for launch in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

Duchess of Tuscany II will be an ‘evolution’ of VSY’s recent projects, Candyscape II and RoMa, said the yard.

New technical elements are incorporated to 'further augment the simplicity and sophistication' of the previous yachts.

These include four higher-powered generators encased in sound-insulated cabins, which allows for two generators to be in motion even during maintenance work on the others. Key crew service areas, such as laundry, storage and management of embarking areas have also been upgraded and will be served by a special shell door.

A glass circular lift will take guests up to the seven metre sundeck and pool. There are two tenders, two water scooters and a rescue launch.

The yard is seeking an owner for
Duchess of Tuscany II ‘ready to bring heart and mind in order to realise yet another superyacht of the highest calibre.’

Stella Maris exhibits a ‘blend of traditional elements of design and layout’. Her innovative architectural design, by architect Espen Oeino and Laurent Giles Naval Architects, includes features such as staggered internal decks and an original form of bow.

Perhaps indicating the green-fingered nature of her owner, she comes equipped with ‘green landscapes at sea’ as house-plants span the decks.  She has a certified helideck, a sundeck that converts into an entertainment space at night and a large beach area near the water. Interior design is by Studio Reverberi. It is based on simple lines but embellished with natural stones, fabrics and veneers that are intended to evoke freshness, lightness and luminosity.
