Email is dead says yacht management software developer

I.T. MOVES IT has launched a new browser-based yacht management platform, LEADiNiUS, which aims to centralise the various administrative processes that comprise the management of a yacht whilst bypassing the need for multiple management applications.

The software, which was demonstrated at the recent European yacht shows by its developer and former superyacht consultant and manager Pascal Wiscour-Conter, is a web-based platform running online in a modern browser on any computer (PC, Mac, Linux),  with an App for IOS and Android tablets and smartphones currently in development.

Explaining the need for the new software, Wiscour-Conter said:

“Today, yacht managers have to use several programs and applications to manage a fleet; some use up to six or eight non-dedicated programmes. We found they experience significant problems to exchange and import/export data between incompatible software, not to mention the cost to adapt and maintain such proprietary software. Transfer of information and real-time communication is not easy either.”

While it is easily accessible and straightforward to activate, LEADiNiUS is, its developer says, equipped with “high-level security” which offers adaptable multi-user access for different purposes and tasks. It is a modular program with the first version (Start-IT) including several modules - Lead-IT, Contact-IT, Cash-IT and Report-IT.  When online LEADiNiUS exhibits extremely low bandwidth consumption whilst offline mode allows captains and managers to on to stay in touch with yachts on their mobile devices.

Speaking to SuperyachtNews.com, Wiscour-Conter identified the target audience as managers, corporate structure directors, captains and owners’ reps. He believes email as an effective form of communication is in decline. This service negates the need for file sharing via email. LEADiNiUS instead uses instant messaging and push notifications to make file sharing, itinerary updates and schedule alerts easily viewable and efficient.

The fledgling company already has bases in Silicon Valley, Ft Lauderdale, Brazil and Monaco. And Wiscour-Conter believes the platform is transferrable to other management sectors.
