Hakvoort confirms the sale of new 45m superyacht
Designed by Omega Architects, the new project is quite different from the rest of the Hakvoort fleet…
Dutch superyacht builder, Hakvoort Shipyard has confirmed that a 45m fast aluminium superyacht has been sold. Named Project Adur, the new project has been fully designed by Omega Architects with naval architecture by Van Oossanen, which includes the integration of Hull Vane designed to optimise the yacht’s performance.
Having been introduced the shipyard by Ocean Independence, the new owner of Project Adur is said to have had a significant involvement in the design process of the new project, working closely with Omega Architects and the shipyard. Hakvoort and Ocean Independence also successfully cooperated on the shipyard’s previous build, 38m Soprano, delivered in 2017.
The exterior styling is quite a different approach for Hakvoort, which historically has built more classically designed motoryachts. Project Adur certainly has a much more contemporary finish, featuring a reverse bow and cleaner lines. Omega has focused on creating a clean exterior, which meant keeping the design simple removing aspects such as the rubrail in order to keep the bulwarks clear.
According to Omega Architects, sustainability has played a pivotal role in the development of this project. Using solutions such as Van Oossanen’s Hull Vane, the design team are ensuring that the yacht is efficient, with a reduction in emissions meaning a lighter environmental footprint.
Below the water line, the yacht benefits from Hull Vane, Van Oossanen Naval Architects’ Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF). The sustainable solution has proven to significantly reduce fuel consumption as well as the ship motions which see an average reduction of up to 25 per cent, improving the experience on board.

Hakvoort now have three superyachts under construction, including 45m Project Adur, which is now scheduled for delivery in 2021. This year, the shipyard will also see the delivery of its 64m hull, YN249, designed by H2 Yacht Design.
