Kohler's latest Tier III compliant generator
Kohler Power Systems has introduced its new generation of Tier-III compliant generators at 50 and 60 Hz.…
“While load requirements have increased due to advanced electronics equipment, on board space is still at a premium,” said Frank Formas, engineer at Kohler Power Systems. “Our new paralleling controller matches power capacity with load needs to eliminate under-loading and over-fuelling, while conserving space, decreasing fuel costs and reducing equipment maintenance.”
The Kohler DEC 3500 offers a newly designed customer interface for easier data entry and retrieval. Advanced features include bus sensing, first on logic and synchronisation. It can be operated in one of three paralleling modes: P-gen (Kohler-patented), droop, or V-bias/S-bias.
The new generators feature a high-pressure common rail fuel system on Tier III emissions-compliant models offering optimum performance and fuel efficiency; Kohler’s newly designed Fast Response X (FRX) alternators with superior permanent magnet excitation; isolated ground DC electrical system (standard); improved sound shields and mounts for decreased noise levels and less vibration; and a smaller package versus older Kohler models (103 to 407mm shorter without sound shield; 134 to 445mm shorter with sound shield).
