Lürssen launches 90m Project 'Global'

Lürssen has launched yet another vast superyacht, this time from its Kroger Werft facility near Rendsburg. At an estimated 90m Project Global is, somewhat astonishingly, the fifth superyacht over 85m launched by the German shipyard in 2012 (following Niki, Quattroelle, Ace and Topaz). It is also one of 13 current superyacht projects underway at Lürssen's various facilities.

As these first images of the new superyacht indicate, there is still some way to go before she is delivered, and the yard has confirmed it is not at liberty to divulge any more information about the vessel or her owner. The project is being managed by Moran Yacht & Ship the US project management specialist that will oversee the rest of the build schedule and finishing work. Global is the latest in a long line of new build management collaborations between the German yard and US manager, which includes four of the aforementioned 2012 launches. Commenting on the progress of the build Moran's president, Rob Moran said:

"Global, who is conducting her pre-launch today, is the latest Moran Yacht & Ship project.  She will be 93 metres and the technical specifications, as well as the complete construction, were overseen by the Moran Yacht & Ship new construction team in conjunction with the captain and engineers."
