Lusben completes Oasis refit
The refit specialist has delivered the 63m yacht back to its owner having completed extensions and maintenance operations…
Lubsen has finished the refit of Oasis. The Livorno-based shipyard extended the beach area by 4m, increasing the overall length of the yacht to 63m. and completed maintenance operations on the main and upper decks, including the replacement of the teak.
“The refit project recently completed on the M/Y Oasis built by Lürssen Yachts, which follows on from [painting] work on the same boat in 2021, demonstrates the confidence shown by the Captain and Owner in Lusben,” says Gianni Paladino, Commercial Director, Lusben.
With interior and exterior design provided by FM Architettura and naval engineering by Studio Sole, the refit involved around 40 people who worked alongside Oasis’ Captain and crew to complete the project in six months. The extension of the beach area required structural steelwork, a series of refitting operations, and modifications to the hull and deck fittings.
On completion, Lusben and Studio Sole performed tests on the vessel’s stability. The shipyard reported an improvement in speed and fuel consumption during sea trials.
“The synergistic relationship established between project management, the work team, the Captain and all the crew made it possible to complete this complex project in a short timeframe,” says Paladino.
He adds the recent introduction of the new floating dock in Livorno and a new support structure now allows the yard to work on yachts over 100m.
