We have just spent the winter completing a significant refit on Kealoha 8, an Oyster 72, in STP Palma. Having had bad experiences with hydraulics work carried out in Palma in the past, when it came to selecting a contractor to carry our servicing and repair work I started asking around for recommendations. I was already using RSB Rigging for my rig removal and refit and they recommended their sister company Marine Hydraulic Solutions (MHS) might be able to answer my needs.

Having met the manager there and looked around what has to be the cleanest, tidiest workshop on the island, I felt confident that we could work together and asked them to start.

During the course of the winter they removed, stripped and rebuilt every aspect of hydraulics on the boat. Most significantly was the Lewmar Commander pack which was looking very tired and the mainsail outhaul which had been slipping, giving us the baggiest main in the Med! I found the service provided by Chris, Paul and Tom to be exceptional. They were meticulous and precise with their work and Chris put a lot of time into researching valve configuration to improve the performance of the Commander system.

MHS has visibly progressed during the winter and now has new sources for parts that should cut down turnaround times for servicing.

I am very happy with the service I’ve received from MHS and would not hesitate to recommend the company to other captains.
