Moonen Shipyards in the Netherlands has launched the long distance explorer Moonen 100, a robust expedition-style vessel, which features smooth lines.

The Vripack designed yacht combines fuel efficiencies with ‘superior’ on board facilities for owners.

She is designed to be fuel efficient via design of her hull shape, her bulbous bow, weight-saving measures, propellers and engines. Comfort is also given a priority, with low noise and vibration levels and notable stability at anchor.

The layout of the Moonen 100 Explorer features three large suites in order to optimise comfort for the passengers. There is also a ‘well-equipped gym’ in the lazarette for exercise during lengthy voyages. Vripack Design Studio created an interior around a ‘caravan’ theme, taking the exotic colours of an Istanbul market, camels and eastern herbs as its inspiration.

Her range is set at 5000 miles at 10 knots, with a much larger range being possible at lower speeds and a tankage of around 36,000 litres.
