Rolls-Royce will debut its new Tier III-compliant MTU 2000 M96 engine at FLIBS. The engine offers enhanced acceleration and lower fuel consumption in both 12-cylinder and 16-cylinder ratings, making it suitable for installation on board superyachts.

The M96 is supported by the MTU Premium Yacht Service, which offers after-sakes support for the entirety of the engine’s lifecycle. “Because our customers demand high levels of performance and reliability”, explained MTU America’s senior sales manager Andrew Boyer, it was essential for the next generation of MTU yacht engines to create excitement and set a new standard for the pleasure craft industry.”

MTU will also use the show to exhibit its Blue Vision New Generation (BVNG) control and monitoring system control and monitoring system, which features colour displays, integrated start-stop control and a standard shipyard interface.

BVNG will also incorporate a joystick system, available in 2015, which offers ‘intuitive manoeuvrability’, compatibility with most thruster systems and GPS-based Station Keeping, which uses GPS positioning to remain stationary.
