The United States’ Palmer Johnson shipyard has launched the first superyacht in its 48m SuperSport series.

The launch of the carbon composite superyacht, which cannot be missed for its gold hull and black superstructure, was announced via the shipyard’s social media platforms on 21 July, 2014.

The trimaran hull design allows the 48m vessel to reach a top speed of 32 knots at the same time as boasting improved fuel efficiency. (A closer look at the unique trimaran hull form can be found in SuperyachtDesign Q19).

Her 11m beam means improved stability and also gives the owners an extended interior space.

The Wisconsin-based shipyard has its second 48m SuperSport in build, scheduled to launch in 2016.
