'Paramour' refit completed in time for 2012 charter season
Pure Superyacht Refit has completed its six-month project on CMN's 43m 2002 motoryacht, 'Paramour'. The refit, intended to increase the yacht's charter appeal, has already resulted in a number of bookings secured in the few weeks following her completion.…
The refit work, carried out by the Pure Superyacht Refit team and headed up by project manager Nic Clarke, aimed to improve the motoryacht’s charter appeal. She now features a new beach club-style sun deck which itself features two bars (one with a barbeque), a large Jacuzzi, dining for 12, and an extended swim platform.
The resultant increase of Paramour’s charter appeal, and having seen completion just before the 2012 charter season, has been successful already, with multiple charter bookings secured following the completion of her refit.
Paramour’s primary works included naval architecture and design, a hull extension, paint works, the design and installation of a new sun deck layout, furniture and upholstery, and required works for compliance and approval for Lloyds class and the Cayman Islands flag.
Initial performance analysis and stability studies also identified that the refit work resulted in an increase in performance and stability.
The motoryacht arrived at the Palma facility three weeks later than originally planned, with the result of work load increase of approximately 42% over the original schedule, while a Lloyds ten-year survey also highlighted a number of non-conformity issues. However, despite these obstacles Pure Superyacht Refit delivered Paramour six days ahead of the original schedule.
“The team have worked painstakingly hard to exceed the client’s expectations,” said Nic Clarke of Pure Superaycht Refit. “Delivering the yacht ahead of schedule, despite the challenges we faced along the way, is a great testament to their commitment and effort."
Clarke concluded: “This project was extensive in its scope, yet the results speak for themselves. The re-design has opened up a whole new usable space previously not being utilised and will transform how the owner and charter guests will use the vessel. Having changed the performance of the yacht as well as the specification throughout, she is now a much more superior vessel than when she arrived. We have literally given Paramour a new lease of life which will ensure a long and busy future, and the owner is delighted.”
