Refit of ‘Heavenly Daze’ commences at Pendennis

Work has begun at Pendennis shipyard on an eight-month winter refit of the 32m Feadship motoryacht Heavenly Daze.

The 1972 Feadship recently arrived at the yard and the restyling of her interiors will be the main focus of the work.

Pendennis’ interior design team will support architecture and interior design specialists, Wetzels Brown Partners, to complete the project by May 2012. The refit will see the restoration of the yacht’s original fittings, with the addition of ‘modern comforts and stylish accessories'. Upgrading of the salon and dining area, as well as VIP and guest cabins, will also form the greater part of the overhaul.

The project came to Pendennis through a combination of recommendation from Wetzels Brown, who received the original brief from the owner and via the yacht's captain.

Gillian Brown, of Wetzels Brown Partners said: “We were approached with the exciting brief of restoring Heavenly Daze to her former glory. Working with Pendennis we feel confident that the owner's vision will be brought to life and Heavenly Daze will soon be ready to write the next chapter in her history.”

Housed in Pendennis’ 55m steel framed ‘White House’ refit space Heavenly Daze will also undergo an annual survey and general maintenance works with isolated deck and hull repairs, and top side repaint.

Jamie Painter, captain of Heavenly Daze, explained the decision behind choosing Pendennis for the refit: “We weighed up our refit options with various shipyards, but wanted the pedigree of the Pendennis name next to the project upon completion.”

Toby Allies, sales and marketing director at Pendennis, continued: “We have worked closely with the captain and owner to pre-plan the series of works, enabling Pendennis to deliver a substantial refit in a tight time period. Our new refit facility in Palma will also be able to provide ongoing support once the yacht begins her Mediterranean charter season in June, ensuring our relationship with Heavenly Daze continues once she leaves the yard in Falmouth.”

Pendennis has several refit projects in operation, making for a busy winter season. Work on Heavenly Daze takes place alongside refits on 53m Perini Navi Jasali II, housed in Pendennis’ outer dock due for completion in February, and the company’s largest refit project to date, 72m Dona Amélia, housed in the inner dry dock.
