The Perini Navi Group has launched Seahawk (C.2193) the first yacht in their new generation 60m series. The launch, which took place at Perini's Viareggio shipyard, was followed by the completion of the mast stepping operations.

Perini's new 60m sailing series has innovative hull lines and technologies that enhance speed and performance, without compromising the comfort and spaces. Seahawk features a sleek hull and superstructure in aluminium, with a gross tonnage of under 500 GRT and a displacement of 570 tons. The variable keel length, allows for a draught that goes from 4.30 to 12.30m.

The ketch, designed by the naval architects at Perini Navi in collaboration with New Zealander Ron Holland, has a total sail plan area of 2.125sqm and features two aluminium masts of 62 and 52m. The booms are in carbon fibre as are the spreaders. For the very first time on a Perini Navi ketch, carbon fibre has also been used for the foils and for the standing rigging.

On the foredeck a new generation of furlers, fully recessed, for the furling of the head sails has been created by the Mast Division of Perini Navi. The Division also developed the new captive winches installed on board, increasing the manoeuvring speed.

Seahawk's interior is the work of French designer Christian Liaigre, who has created an extremely elegant contemporary allure, matched with a sheer marine tradition.

The Group is currently working on the second yacht in this series at their Viareggio shipyard. C.2218, a 60-m sloop with a carbon fibre mast of 75m, is scheduled for a 2014 delivery while the third unit in this series, the ketch C.2232, will be delivered in 2015.
