Royal Huisman launches 'Blue Papillon'

Royal Huisman has launched 43.31m performance sloop Blue Papillon. Naval architecture is by German Frers and her contemporary and welcoming interior by Rhoades Young. The yacht features a high aspect carbon rig by Rondal and sails by North Sails. She has been designed to be a contemporary yet ageless yacht – one that selectively incorporates today’s most relevant and effective technical innovations rather than over-indulging in the abundance of technologies now available.



The Frers team focused on re-profiling the deck house; optimising the deck layout – now sporting both main and centre cockpits in addition to the owners’ private cockpit and low-level Beach Deck aft; and further enhancing the GA to provide VIP accommodation for six guests in addition to the full-beam owners’ cabin aft.



Blue Papillon is now undergoing sea trials before hand over to her new owners. Still in construction at the Royal Huisman yard is a 46.4m classic pilot ketch (Hull 392) due in 2014, and 47.65m classic sloop (Hull 393), also due in 2014.
