Rybovich Shipyard unsteps masts for 56m Perini Navi 'Rosehearty'

Rybovich Shipyard in West Palm Beach, Florida, saw the unstepping of the the main and mizzen masts for Perini Navi’s 56m sailing yacht Rosehearty, as part of her refit.

The masts, 21.25 and 8.15 tons respectively, were successfully un-stepped at the Rybovich Shipyard in just one day, using three cranes, two forklifts, and a team of approximately 15 technicians, equipment operators and ground crew.

The masts were then put in a custom enclosure out of the water, in which a full paint job will shortly get underway, as well as other associated services.

“It was a well coordinated effort between out technicians, the crane operators and the Rybovich crew,” said Tony Hawker, owner of SeaHawke Rigging. “We have all of the resources we need to consistently execute jobs of this scale here at Rybovich.”

Tony Hawker has partnered with Rybovich for several years and has performed mast and rigging services on many of Perini Navi’s sailing yachts, including Felicita West, Helios, Barracuda, Atmosphere, Antara, and Rosehearty’s sistership Asahi.

Following the unstepping of the masts, Rosehearty was then hauled out of the water for a full paint job of her own in a custom enclosure on the dry dock.

The entire refit project, which will include reinstallation of masts and booms, is expected to complete in May later this year.
