ShipConstructor Software Inc. (SSI) releases new software

ShipConstructor Software Inc. (SSI) has released a new version of its AutoCAD based CAD/CAM software. Developers at SSI say the new software, named ShipConstructor 2012, enables users to work in the most advanced CAD environment.

New tools and improvements on the software include enhanced surface modeling, improved point cloud support for laser scanning, direct access to AutoCAD WS, and in-application access to AutoDesk Exchange. Enhanced offset construction lines and a one-step package and deploy project – where versions of the entire ShipConstructor project are quickly isolated for archiving or transferring – are also amongst the new features.


 
ShipConstructor 2012 is faster than previous versions. Load times for distributed system model drawings are now reduced by up to 10 per cent and by half for viewing distributed system part property data.
 
SSI CEO Darren Larkins commented: “No other shipbuilding CAD/CAM application is enhanced as frequently as ShipConstructor.”
