Sunrise Yachts says latest 45m is on schedule

Sunrise Yachts has informed SuperyachtNews.com that the latest Sunrise 45m, Project 'Sunset' is progressing well. The Turkish yard predicts that she is on course to be launched in June 2013.…

SuperyachtNews.com has been informed that the construction of Project Sunset is progressing well, and that the 45m sistership to Africa is still on course for a launch date of June 2013. The builder - Turkish-based Sunrise Yachts - expects her to feature heavily in the 2013 show calendar, with appearances at Cannes and Monaco already factored in next year.

The second of two 45m Paolo Scanu designed superyachts, Project Sunset is a long-range displacement yacht with a fuel capacity of 60,000 litres, a design consideration that would allow the vessel to cruise for extended periods without the need to refuel. Like Africa, she will sleep 11 guests, but as Sunrise's vice president of sales and marketing, Jean-Claude Carme told SuperyachtNews.com, there are a number of modifications being made to this latest vessel:

"The Sunrise 45m proved to be a very effective design; at 499 GRT, it offers spacious volumes. It is a full displacement, long range, stable, and low sound and vibration motor yacht. The changes from Africa to Sunset include a redesigned foredeck and sundeck areas, as well as a bright, more contemporary interior."

The platform on which she was based was designed for long range cruising, with large service and storage areas and an engine room with work space factored in. The engine room is equipped with anti-drumming technology and features ceramic fittings, an air-conditioned control room and a separate, double-insulated generator room.

Sunrise Yachts continues to expand its offering, quite literally, with construction continuing apace on two 63m projects, due to be launched in 2014. And diversifying its portfolio, still further, the yard is set to deliver a 56m diesel-electric hybrid motoryacht in 2015.
