'Eclipse' leaves Fincantieri following maintenance work

The world's largest superyacht on the water, 162.5m Eclipse has left the Fincantieri shipyard after being dry-docked for maintenance work. Maintenance activities were carried out at the Trieste San Marco shipyard and took approximately four weeks of work and the employment of around 70 workers. And, as the image below demonstrates, dry-docking the world's largest yacht is no mean feat.



At its Muggiano facility, Fincantieri now continues with the construction of a second superyacht - following 2011's launch of 134m Serene - the 140m Victory.

Three concept projects, which are being developed on platforms engineered by Fincantieri, have also been recently introduced. They are the 88m Virage88, designed by Andrew Winch, the 145m Fortissimo, a 'gas turbine yacht' designed by Ken Freivoch, and the 142m Armonia, styled by Andrea Vallicelli and engineered by Fincantieri Yachts.
