Sunseeker's 'Thumper' for sale

Sunseeker’s 2014 build, M/Y Thumper, has been listed for sale with Spencer Brown at Sunseeker Poole. The tri-deck semi-custom 40.05m has an asking price of £15 million.

Since receiving one of the biggest Chinese investments in the UK, Sunseeker has gone from strength to strength and increased not only the range of yachts on offer, but are commissioning yachts towards the higher end of the LOA spectrum.

Thumper is currently considered one of the larger yachts in the fleet. The average LOA of the 30m+ live Sunseeker fleet is 34.8m and 39.7m is the average LOA of what is in build. The introduction of the majestic 155 and 168 Sport (the first of which is due for a 2017 delivery) is likely to continue to raise this average in the near future, which as you can see from the chart below, has been sporadically rising over the last 10 years.



Thumper is fitted with 2x MTU 12V 4000 M93 (3181 PS) engines and has a fuel capacity of 26,800 litres (7050 US gal.). As a reference, the average 35-45m motor yacht currently in build has a capacity of 37,015 litres. Therefore, with a cruising speed of 18 knots, she is only able to obtain a 1,500nm range.
