141m Yas launches at ADM
Yas' launch at ADM Shipyard in Abu Dhabi makes her the eleventh largest yacht on the water. Formerly Swift 141 she was officially named at the launch...…
A ‘dramatically beautiful vessel of unique design and styling’, Yas features interior and exterior designs by Pierrejean Design in Paris.
Exhibiting fluid curves and a ‘spectacular’ structural covering of glass, Yas will accommodate up to 60 guests. Appropriate to her former name Swift, she is fast for her size with a top speed of 26 knots, a cruising speed of 20 knots, transoceanic range, and a ‘green’ fuel economy.
At the launch ceremony, Johan Valentijn, Privinvest executive board member and industrial manager in charge of the project, said:
“Our international team of experts, subcontractors, and suppliers has accomplished one of the great challenges in modern yacht building, and set in place a major milestone in shipbuilding technology and art that will be difficult to surpass.”
Yas’ speedy performance derives largely from her fast and manoeuvrable hull, adapted from a UAE Navy frigate.

She has several outstanding technical and aesthetic features including a relatively narrow beam that lowers her resistance through the water and adds grace to her shape. Other notable features of Yas are her superstructure, which is stated to be the largest composite object of its kind ever built.
Yas has an automatic stern platform, outdoor pool and spa, a garage to stow toys and a carbon-fibre door that serves as either a boarding or swim platform. Dual bow and single stern thrusters allow dynamic positioning for her crew.

Safety features have been paid due consideration and Yas is equipped with advanced radars, SatCom, long-range underwater Sonar, FLIR and high-definition day cameras, and Night Navigator.
According to the yard her audiovisual entertainment system is ‘the most extensive and sophisticated aboard any yacht’.
Yas is built under Classification by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and she is the first yacht ever built to meet requirements of the new UAE Large Yacht Code created for private vessels.
