Italian owner Massimiliano Florio shares why he took the time to accompany his crew on the delivery voyage from Cape Town to the Mediterranean on his new Southern Wind S/Y Grande Orazio. For fellow sailing yacht owner Bob Eichler, while ownership isn’t cheap, spending time on board S/Y Altair, whether it is racing or cruising, brings with it is own personal value.



Simon Cardiff, advisor on superyacht ownership, asset management and governance, looks at this idea of value and more intelligent approaches to ownership in his article ‘The Investor Approach’. For Harry Vafias, owner of three superyachts including M/Y Southern Cross III, intelligent ownership comes from managing your yacht with a commercial. After over 20 years in the industry, former owner Stanley Bey opens up about his experiences and what intelligent ownership meant for him, and offers some words of advice to today’s owners.

For many, superyacht ownership goes beyond just owning the boat. It can be a unifying pastime, bringing you together with other like-minded owners.
