NOMEN Products GmbH, Hamburg, Germany, brings out a new "full-metal" line of the CLIP-cleat. While the rotating clips have been manufactured from a synthetic material before, they are now being completely produced from metal. The "full-metal" version underlines the stylish shape of the cleat. The CLIP-cleat is eminently suitable to all kinds of boats and is particularly convenient on as e.g. platforms or beach clubs where crew or guests are moving around and at the same time the boat itself or tenders are moored.
In 2013 the NOMEN CLIP-cleat won the DAME Award (Design Award of METS Amsterdam) in the category "deck equipment, sails and rigging". This patented multi-function-mooring cleat is designed as a combination of cleat and fairlead. The CLIP-cleat always remains closed by its turning clip-ends, no matter whether it is belayed or not. No lines can get caught nor can anyone be injured. Casting off is possible at all times.
