West Nautical is a full-service superyacht company providing services including sales, charter, yacht and project management and crew recruitment. While the head offices are located in Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK, they also have international offices and colleagues located in France, Italy, Cyprus, the Balearics, Dubai and South Africa, and they aren’t stopping there.
Under the company umbrella there are now three brands, with West Nautical being the company focusing on brokerage services for yacht sales and charter, and Nautical Management Services the company’s yacht and vessel management division focusing on build, crew, surveys and compliance management as well as the more technical aspects of the superyacht and commercial shipping maritime industry.
Local businessman Geoff Moore started West Nautical in the UK in 2014 after an incredible career at sea on both commercial ships and superyachts and has grown the UK company into what it is today.
The latest company to join the group was formerly known as Storrar Marine, a well-established regional marine business for over 30 years, which was purchased by Mr Moore in early 2024 and re-launched as Marine Chandlery in June.
At the start of 2022, the UK head office expanded into two new office locations in the North East, with the West Nautical head office located in the affluent Jesmond area in an ‘estate and travel agency’ style shop front, and Nautical Management Services having a two-storey self-contained office in the well-known business suburb of Team Valley. In June 2024, Marine Chandlery moved to the Tyne Tunnel trading estate where the company had a very successful opening weekend.
The UK-based team is approaching 30 persons, with many of them bringing a diverse set of skills and knowledge from varied maritime backgrounds, having first-hand experience of all aspects of superyacht and vessel operations both ashore and at sea. The team is therefore able to deliver the highest standards of superyacht and marine services by all three brands to a wide variety of clients from the local North East maritime community to the international market beyond.
Geoff Moore said, “We are extremely proud to be a North East based company and will continue to grow and service within the global maritime industry. With the addition of Marine Chandlery, not only can we continue to serve the superyacht industry, but we are excited to meet and exceed expectations of the leisure and commercial boat owners across the region as well as revitalising the local maritime community.”
This thriving company can truly serve all superyacht owners needs from building, purchasing, chartering or supplying a yacht with anything ranging from an anchor to the latest watersports toys.
